GarageSale ("we," "our," "us") is a community-first local marketplace. We believe privacy is a right, not an afterthought. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we never do with it.

2. What We Collect

We collect only what we need to operate the service:

• Account information — your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign up.
• Social sign-in identifiers — a one-time authentication token from Google or Apple if you use social login. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password.
• Listing content — photos, descriptions, prices, and other details you post.
• Messages — communications between buyers and sellers within the app.
• Wallet and transaction data — credit balances and your purchase history inside GarageSale. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers.
• Push notification token — a device identifier used solely to deliver GarageSale notifications to your device.
• Location (optional) — the city or neighborhood you choose to set on your profile to enable local discovery. We do not access your device GPS.

3. What We Do Not Collect

• Payment card numbers — Stripe handles this entirely.
• Device location via GPS — we only use what you voluntarily enter on your profile.
• Behavioral tracking data or cross-app identifiers.
• Any information from third-party advertising or data broker networks.

4. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to operate GarageSale:

• Creating and managing your account.
• Displaying your listings and profile to other users in your area.
• Facilitating messaging between buyers and sellers.
• Processing payments and managing your credit wallet via Stripe.
• Sending push notifications about your listings, offers, and messages.
• Improving the performance and reliability of the app.

5. What We Never Do With Your Data

• We do not sell or rent your personal data to any third party.
• We do not share your information for advertising or marketing purposes.
• We do not use behavioral tracking or analytics services that profile you across the internet.
• We do not share your personal information with data brokers.

6. Infrastructure Providers

We use a small number of trusted technology providers to run the service. These are infrastructure partners — not data buyers, ad networks, or analytics companies. Each provider's own privacy policy governs their handling of data.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing support@garagesale.app. We will delete your data within 30 days of a verified request.

8. Children's Privacy

GarageSale is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Rights

You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data at any time. Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California may have additional rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA respectively. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@garagesale.app.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the app. Continued use of GarageSale after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
